Doing Our Bit for the Environment
At Herbyville House, we love to recycle and to keep our waste at a minimum.
We want you to feel good about helping too! It doesn’t have to be hard if we all try –
Recycle, Reuse or Compost.
We try to achieve this by wrapping and packing your goods with used packaging as much as possible. This keeps waste from landfill and ensures that you receive your goods in a safe and secure manor. Sometimes they’re not as pretty but we can all sleep at night trying to do it better.
When we need to buy packaging materials, we choose to spend a little extra and buy goods that are- home recyclable, landfill biodegradable, made with recycled materials or natural products, Australian made and just environmentally responsible.
Some of our packaging includes –
Australia Post – carbon neutral and recyclable Australian made boxes.
- 100% fully recyclable, Recycle in your kerbside recycling bin, FSC certified parcel boxes, Satchel range containing 80% recycled plastic & carbon neutral delivery.
Boxes For Business- Awesome NSW Business selling reusable boxes!
We love to buy these second hand cardboard boxes, that still have life in them and help the environment buy reuse and recyclable. They also sell Our Biodegradable Bubble wrap that is way better than the stuff that takes forever to break down. Great to deal with and Love your work!
HeapsGood Packaging VIC- we love these guys.
We use their Hemp string for product labels- Hemp is strong, uses 4 x less water to grow than cotton, captures nasty carbon for us, removes toxins from the soil and it grows like an unwanted chin hair! Naturally coloured which helps Herbyville House packaging shine.
We also use their Water Kraft Tape to seal our boxes. Great for the environment from the beginning to the ending.
- Made from recycled paper waste
- Recyclable on cartons, no need for removal
- FSC certified and EN13432 compliant
- Natural starch adhesive derived from potatoes
We use their Eco tape to seal our boxes. It uses a natural rubber adhesive and is made from PLA and certified to break down in a commercial composting facility within 60 days due to its materials. Home composting takes a little longer, but Eco tape decomposes with zero toxicity, letting worms munch on the leftovers.
(NOTE- This can be recycled with other soft plastics or disposed of in the general rubbish bin. Whatever you choose it will be better for the environment than regular tape, So, it’s a WIN WIN for all. Once disposed to landfill it will biodegrade approx. 90%+ faster than the nasty tape and the worms can do their thing!)
Shout out also to Biogone VIC – Selling a huge range of packaging and home plastic goods, that help us all do it better by buying biodegradable and home compostable.
We will always strive to do our bit and hope that you can support us along the way.
